Fun weekend...

After a long week, this weekend was just what I needed. Thursday was my first (of many) job fairs for teaching. Although I was extremely nervous, it went really well and I was able to meet with 9 different school districts. Like I have said before, looking for a teaching job is one of the most stressful things I have ever experienced because the process lasts for so long. I began applying on districts websites in February and job fairs last through the month of July, so in essence, I will be looking for like 6 months!! Well, hopefully I will get a job before then! Anyways, the districts that really stood out to me were Arlington ISD, HEB ISD, and Castleberry ISD, mainly because how nice the people were!
Griffin decided to go to Waco on Saturday for Pig Dinner, which is an annual event for FIJI's (current and alum) to get together. While he was in Waco, I went to Granbury and spent the day with my mom and mallory. We went to lunch, got pedicures, did a little shopping, and then watched movies at my moms. I bought the cutest little table for only $25 at Witherspoons (my favorite antique store in Granbury by far!!) Here is a picture of it!!

I got back home on Sunday around 11:00 and Griffin's parents came over to help us plan/shop for our yard. Although you can not tell from the pictures, it was in pretty bad shape when we bought it! So anyways, we planned out the different types of plants we wanted and then went to lunch with Griffin's parents, Hastings, Lori, and Hayden. After that we went and bought all the plants and then went home and got to work. We prepared all of the flower beds, painted the picture frames that I bought last weekend at Almost Heaven, did laundry, went grocery shopping, and built a dog house!! We were very productive!!

Here is a picture of the two etchings from 1901 that I bought at Almost Heaven and then refinished...

Then we watched Kings, a new tv show that HIGHLY recommend. It basically is a retelling (rather accurate I must add) of the Old Testament's story of David and Goliath. Since Griffin and I were in need of a new show (Big Love season finale was last week), we started watching it and it really is a wonderful show!!

Aside from that, we had a great weekend and I hope everyone else did as well!!

Until next time,
Maggie

I am so glad I found your blog, Magpie! I LOVE IT. You're so freaking cute and I just adore everything about you. It is probably so way past your time, but I remember in middle school my friends and I used to write notes to each other and at the end we would put (rather than "sincerely" or "love") LYLAS. It meant, love you like a sis. Well, in this case, I truly DO LOVE YOU like a sis! You're the best. I am so excited to keep up with on you on the blog!
LYLAS,
Lissa
