my goals is for this space to function as three different spaces...
{laundry room}
{pantry}
{mudroom}
for a room that is only 6x7, i'm sure this will definitely be a difficult task. we are going to start clearing out the space this week so we can paint.
here is a prioritized list:
- paint room - most likely a neutral color, go figure.
- install the front loading washer and dryer that my mom so graciously gifted us
- install a countertop on top of the washer and dryer, most likely mdf painted white
- build floor to ceiling shelves for the pantry component of the space. we plan on constructing them with stained wood and metal brackets to extend the farmhouse look from the rest of the house
- purchase three large galvanized bins like these to go under the lowest shelf; one for dog food, one for trash, and one for aluminum cans.
- install beadboard in the alcove by the door to create a mudroom-feel, along with hooks to hang jackets and a boot tray to put wet or dirty shoes.
- accessorize, accessorize, accessorize.
wish me luck.
love,
maggie

cant wait to see how it turns out -- i love the inspiration pictures you have!
Love your ideas! You may want to hop over to shanty2chic and look at what she did with her laundry room. I'm in love with her curtains! Have you ever considered putting beadboard or beadboard wallpaper on the ceiling and painting it an accent color?
