a day in the life

{a day in the life}

• 5:15 - alarm goes off and i don't snooze it twice like i usually do because i have to be at school early for staff meeting
• 5:15 - 6:00 - shower, apply makeup, blow-dry and straighten hair, get dressed

• 6:00 - 6:15 - wakeup this little cutie, which he doesn't always particularly love. if it were up to him, he'd sleep until 9:00 like he does on the weekends

• 6:15 - 7:00 - make my morning commute to granbury for work. make a pit stop at sonic to get a large diet dr. pepper (easy ice). baird and i talk most of the way and i have my usual morning phone call with my mom. 

 

• 7:00 - drop off baird and head to school 
• 7:15 - 7:55 - attend staff meeting and eat my wonderful nutritious breakfast

•   7:55 - 8:00 - call griffin before school starts and things get crazy and get my classroom ready

• 8:00 - 12:00 - schooooolllll... i have 4 classes for an hour each, all with around 20 students each, mostly juniors and seniors. i grade tests, keep kids off each other, you know usual high school shenanigans. 
• 12:00 - 12:30 - eat lunch - today it was lettuce with feta cheese and raspberry vinaigrette. quick call to griffin before the kids come in again.
• 12:30 - 4:30 - 3 more hour long classes, this time mostly freshman and sophomores, and then finally an hour long conference. nothing too exciting happened at school. the kids are definitely getting restless and are ready for summer though. 
• 4:45 - pick up baird... he had just gotten out of the pool :) 
• 5:00 - 5:45 - drove home
• 5:45 - 6:15 - talked to griffin while he cooked dinner, ate the yummy ravioli that griffin made, and fed baird dinner. tonight it was lasagna and bananas.

• 6:15 - 7:00 - we start cleaning out the office closet - over the past few months we've gotten very lazy and started just throwing stuff in there. we went through a ton of stuff. we trashed a bunch of stuff and then i organized all of our important documents - birth certificates, social security cards, insurance information, tax information, etc and placed all of it with both of our wills. while we were cleaning baird was shoveling bananas into his mouth as fast as possible. 

• 7:00 - 8:00 - went on a 4 mile run - today it was more like a run/walk because i wasn't feeling it.

• 8:00 - 8:30 - play with baird and finish cleaning out the closet - its basically empty now
• 8:30 - put baird to bed
• 8:30 - 9:15 - finish cleaning up some things in the kitchen and around the house
• 9:15 - 10:00 - sit down for the first time and finally enjoy some time with griffin watching the ranger game and playing around on blogger and interest.
• 10:30 - sweet dreams

 you might think that this is an abnormally busy day for us but regretfully this reflects most days. if we don't have bible study or a family activity of some sort we are out with friends. and if we don't have any activities scheduled, we are busy doing stuff around the house. i keep promising myself that life will slow down at some point but I'm starting to wonder if it ever actually does. you know what though? i'd take my busy life any day of the week. i wouldn't trade it for the world.
