what i'm loving wednesday

it's that time of week again already...
linking up with jaime today for
what i'm LOVING wednesday
i'm using this week's post to brainstorm the things that i am loving that i might be asking for for christmas. i know it seems a tad bit early but my family always starts asking right around thanksgiving so i decided i would go ahead and give it a headstart. i thought about asking for things for the baby, but decided that this is probably one of the last times for a while that i can get some fun things for me. plus, with all of my wonderful friends and family, i can't imagine needing much else after my showers are over. plus, it was helpful that griffin and i purchased some of the big ticket items in the room like the crib and the crib mattress, and that we were gifted our beautiful changing table by one of griffin's family's dear family friends.

anywhoo... this is what i've come up with so far...

{one} - i'm LOVING spode christmas tree dishes - i have been wanting these for quite some time and after seeing them the other day at steinmart, i decided it is definitely something i want to start collecting. my mom has the nikko version of the same dishes, but i decided i would go with the spode. i think collecting these for christmas each year would be so much fun!!

{two} - i'm totally LOVING this schwinn beach cruiser. griffin and i have already decided that once the baby is big enough, we want to take family bike rides. griffin just got a new mountain bike last month so now i need one. plus, this one kind of matches his :)

{three} - i'm totally LOVING some good-smelling candles. i know it sounds totally odd, but i am too cheap to buy nice candles so i want some that will last me a while!! perhaps these yankee candles...

{four} i'm totally LOVING scentsy - although i don't have one yet, a few people that i work with have them and they go on and on about how wonderful they are. they say you don't need one in every room because they reach so far so i'm thinking i'll ask for two large ones for the living room/dining room and bedrooms, and one wall plug-in for the nursery to keep it nice and fresh with all those poopy-diapers.

{five} i'm totally LOVING riding boots right now. these are my favorite so far, courteous of piperline.

although i need to add a few more things to the list, this is about all i can think of at this juncture.

when it comes to christmas, i really enjoy buying gifts for my family and friends more than receiving them. i think i might start sometime during the next couple of weeks, just to get a good head start :)

hope everyone had a wonderful wednesday!

love,
maggie

p.s. not only did we have our friends katie and jordan over tonight, but we (aka griffin) also finished priming the kitchen cabinets and i baby proofed all of the plugs in the house. although it was a minor task, it is another thing i can cross off my list :)

i love the christmas dishes! my grandmother started me a collection of the spode christmas dishes when i was little and has added to them over the years. i'm excited to have a place to display them now! also, my mom gave me a yankee candle & i've been slowly burning it to enjoy it for as long as i can since our other candles are courtesy of walmart's collection :)

hahaha! I love that you baby proofed already! That's one of the best things about a newborn...they stay where you put them! Once my nephew started crawling though he LOVED outlets...scary!

Scentsys must be a teacher thing because everyone at my school is obsessed with them and I'm just finding out what they are! I do hear lots of great things about them though! And Will's mom has a HUGE collection of Spode Christmas dishes and they are so festive and fun! She puts them out the day after Thanksgiving and we eat on them all month long!

Nice choices! I love those dishes, and I'm a big Yankee candle fan (though I can never bring myself to spend that much on them either).

I'm about 23 weeks pregnant, and I decided the same thing - that I'd rather get some things for me this Christmas, instead of things for the baby, because it might be my last chance for a while. . . we think alike! :-)

Random, but I was looking at the leaked Macy's black friday ad and they had Spode in there for 50% off and they have Spode at Costco right now. :)
