Productive Weekend

Well this weekend was extremely productive around the Walton household. Not only did we get all of the painting done in the living room, but we also got all of the decorating done! Yes that's right, my energy levels kicked in on Friday night and Saturday and I got the WHOLE thing decorated, minus a couple of things I still need to purchase (like 2 matching throws to cover our cute, but outdated occasional chairs until we have them reupholstered).

As I was decorating, Griffin, Hastings, and Austin (2 of his brothers) installed the beadboard in the dining room! Because we got all of the cuts done at Lowe's (definitely worth the $.25 a cut), it only took them about 3 hours to install. Once the wallpaper comes in, we will put it up and finish it off with some molding. Everything really is coming together nicely.

We also got some new light fixtures for the wall in the dining room that I am SUPER excited about. I am super into the eclectic, farmhouse look right now and when I saw these at Lowes, I knew i HAD to have them.
Isn't that the cutest light fixture you have ever seen?!? It looks awesome with our DIY pendent light that we have over the farmhouse table in the dining room!

I also started cleaning out the nursery closet this weekend. When we moved in, Griffin and I designated that closet for all of our winter coats and random clothing that we do not wear very often. There was also an assortment of random home decorations that we had thrown in there. Because we have some extra storage space in the built-in bookshelves in the living room, I put all of the extra home decorations, as well as all of our games and DVDs in there. This only took up one side so I am going to leave the other one empty for all of the toys we are sure to accumulate when the baby arrives. And as for the clothes... we haven't really found an extra place for them yet. I am thinking about getting some under the bed storage boxes for them this week.

Aside from all of the home reno/organization projects that we tackled this weekend, we also managed to have quite a bit of fun. On Saturday we went over to our friend Katie and Jordan's apartment, then went to dinner at Taverna with them, Graham and Amy and went to a new bar off Magnolia called The Usual . The atmosphere is very urban and loungey (sp?) and, best of all, it is non-smoking! On Sunday we went to the Ranger's Game with two of our other couple friends, Taylor and Jaime, and Allison and David. They won 10-1 and we had a great time!!

What about ya'll?? Did you tackle any hope projects this weekend?

Stay tuned... tonight we are doing a living room reveal!

Love,
Maggie
