a pregnancy update

well i went to the doctor yesterday and everything went great! we had a sonogram and the baby is around 6 lbs 7oz right now. she did an "exam" and, as of yesterday afternoon, i was dilated to a 2 and 75% effaced. while this sounds like i am about to have the baby at any moment, it doesn't necessarily mean that. my doctor saw it as good progression towards delivery but definitely couldn't say when this little baby would arrive. she has seen some who walk around dilated for weeks and others who went from a 2 to a 10 within a few short hours. we left the doctor a little uncertain, but optimistic that everything looked great. well this morning when i woke up and lost a little something called the "______ ____." i'm not going to write the name on here out of pure fear that i'll make one of you lovely readers puke. i also started cramping this morning and according to the doctor, who i consulted with two different times throughout the day, these are contractions, just mild ones. they told me not to worry and to track them once they start getting closer together.

so long story short, i will most likely be having this baby within the next week... although i am hoping i can make it through the last 2 days of school first. we are so excited to meet baby baird, whenever that might be, and are just thrilled at the thought that it might be sooner rather than later. when my mother-in-law asked if there was anything we needed, the only thing i could think of was a christmas onsie :) she emailed griffin and me a couple of hours later with a picture of this cutie...

we never dreamt he would come before christmas but assuming he does, he will definitely be extremely stylish thanks to his coco. so in the mean time, we are scrambling like crazy to get our kitchen remodel finished and the house clean. for some reason the thought of coming home to dirty clothes, dishes, and floors makes me sick to my stomach. griffin is currently putting the last coat of chalkboard paint on the walls in the kitchen and i am going to mop the floors once i finish this post. the diaper bag is already packed with baird's stuff and mine is half-way packed minus the everyday essentials.

and that is all... if i am mia for a few days, you now know why.

and for those of you who aren't really interested in the pregnancy stuff but who are anxiously awaiting kitchen remodel pictures, i will post them as soon as it is finished somewhat presentable.

hope everyone had a wonderful wednesday :)

love,
maggie
