craigslist crib

well after much deliberation, griffin and i finally decided that we did indeed want a jenny lind crib, despite how girly it might be :) we knew we wanted to paint it a fun color and didn't see a need to buy a brand new one when we knew we could find a perfectly good one on craigslist.

so the search began while we were in hawaii. i started looking every day and was shocked at how many were posted on there daily. there had to at least been 6-8 jenny lind's in the dfw posted per day. so, after investigating quite a few, we found one that was in perfect condition and only 1.5 years old. the owner said their precious baby only actually slept in it a hand full of times because she cried all of the time. hopefully there is no bad karma there. anyways, here is the picture of the beauty.

although we already have ideas of what color we are going to paint it, we are going to wait until after our doctors appointment next friday to start, just in case i decide to go really girly or really boyish, which i am 99.9% positive i will not. this also shows the cute little ladder that i scored for $20 on the square in granbury a few months back. all of the baby blankets were mine when i was a bambino. these pictures also give you a refresher on what the stripes look like on the wall. we did those a few months ago when we moved in and you can read about it here.

here is a picture of our inspiration for the crib. while we aren't completely sold on the yellow (i am really digging a coraly-red color right now) we do love the look of the jenny lind crib painted :)

baby update:
veggie size: sweet potato
fruit size: mango
length: 6 inches
weight: 8 ounces
new tricks: arms and legs are in proportion with the rest of his/her body, which explains the kicking, stretching, and belly-surfing. {please excuse the way i look, it was after a long day at work}

i've felt great since we got back from hawaii. i've started to notice a little more back pain and definitely have noticed the difficulties of sleeping while pregnant. it's a little harder to get out of bed in the morning with this little belly and the frequent bathroom trips are pretty annoying too. my appetite is back to what it was before i got pregnant, but i'm definitely not ravenous like most of the books/blogs/websites so i should be. i'm not worried. i just don't eat when i'm not hungry, so sue me :) we go in next friday for our BIG appointment are really excited to find out 1) if it is a boy or girl and 2) where he or she is percentage wise, aka, whether he or she is small or large compared to other babies that are 20 weeks old. that is about all i can think of as far as the pregnancy goes.

love,
maggie

you look great! i can't wait to hear all the stats and what the little thing is! i'm so saying girl now. I was set on boy, now I'm set on girl. I want to hear what percentile he/she is! Would be so weird if my baby was little seeing as how I'm 5'11 and yours was huge seeing as how you're tiny!
