snakes and snails and puppy dog tails...

...are what little boys are made of.

it's true. we went to the doctor on friday for our big, 20 week ultrasound and and we found out we are having a boy! although we were pretty confident this would be the case, it was still super exciting finding out for sure and seeing the precious little munchkin on the screen. we were able to spend a good 20 minutes looking at him and i have to be honest... he is the cutest little thing i've ever seen. he was moving around quite a bit and he kept waving his hand in front of his face :)

after oohhing and ahhhing over him for about 20 minutes, we went next door to meet with our doctor. she said that everything looked great and that he is around the 50th percentile. she also changed our due date from the 10th of january to the 6th. i know it isn't that big of a difference, but every day counts. after our appointment, we shared all of the good news with our family.

and as of today, the little munchkin finally has a name. we decided on...

Baird Samuel Walton

for those of you who don't know, baird is my maiden name so it holds special meaning to me. i am one of four girls so i thought it would be special to carry on the family name. samuel is griffin's maternal grandfather's name. grandaddy was a very special person in the walton family and he was a very special person to griffin. although he passed away 2 months before griffin and i started dating, i've learned to know and love him from all of the stories i've heard over the past 8 years. although it took us a while to decide for sure on the name, now that we've decided on it, we couldn't be happier.

and is a picture of the little nugget for your enjoyment...

isn't he a cutie??

stay tuned later this evening and tomorrow for some major nursery updates :)

love,
maggie

That is an adorable name! My mom tried to convince me to use my maiden name (Anderson) with our little boy, like Anderson Cooper, but I just couldn't do it. Baird is so much cuter - I didn't guess that it was a last name until I read this!!!
