25 weeks

today the baby is...
{length} = 13.5 inches
{weight} = 1.5 lbs
{fruit size} = rutabaga
{simulated baby photo}

{baird's tricks} = he is finally starting to fatten up his figure.
{mommy's weight gain} = 5 lbs

and

{other mommy ramblings} = overall, i feel fine. i'm definitely starting to feel more and more pregnant with each passing day. although my energy levels are still high and my sleep habits are still wonderful, i feel a lot of pressure in my stomach. i keep thinking to myself, how on earth is my stomach going to stretch any farther. im not naive. i know my body is going to morphe into something ugly and unrecognizable during the next 2.5 months. however, i've heard stretch marks are genetic and, lucky for me, my mom has none after 3 babies. lets just hope i don't get them.

i had my 24 week appointment yesterday and it went great. we waited for a good 30 minutes but once we were back there, we were in and out in 15 minutes. we heard baird's heartbeat and it was nice and healthy at 150. she told us about cord blood storage, which we are declining if you are curious. she also gave us some information on the lovely glucose test that i will have at my next appointment. basically i have to drink a really nasty drink about 45 minutes before i come in and then they will do some blood tests to check my glucose levels. because ive kept my weight gain to a minimum and because my mom didn't have gestational diabeties, i'm really not too worried about it. from my next appointment onward, i will start going in every two weeks. when she told us this yesterday, how quickly this baby's arrival is coming really hit me. i can't believe i'm almost in my 3rd trimester.

shockingly enough, i don't have a picture of me today. i'll try and get the hubs to take one tonight and ill post it...

happy thursday...yeah for it almost being the weekend :)

love,
maggie

5 pounds? You mean this week, right? just kidding.

I am 14 weeks, and although I lost 3 at one point (morning sickness) I'm pretty sure I'm up 3 now, too. I have an appt. Tuesday.

I'm really enjoying looking through your blog. You and your husband are just adorable!

I come from a true blooded Italian family and pregnant women always rubbed tons of olive oil on their tummies and they all have really pretty stomachs even after many kids- so I did and it helped so much. No stretch marks and it really soothed the skin especially towards the end. The stretching seems to make it itch and burn- but not with olive oil! Just thought I would share.
