kitchen renovation, part one: painting the walls

although we weren't planning on starting the kitchen reno for a couple of weeks, we had nothing to do yesterday so we decided to go ahead and start. you guys know i don't do well sitting around. so, we cleared out the kitchen, got out the painting supplies and paint, and painted the walls. griffin rolled while i did all of the brush work. while i was waiting on him at times, i went ahead and took all of the hardware off of the cabinets to save some time later in the process. because a lot of our projects are done at night after we get home from work, saving time, even if its just 30 minutes, is always helpful.

so, without further adieu, here are pictures from step one. although it may not look that much different, i'm telling you that painting over that faux finish makes such a huge difference. its crazy what a little paint can do.

now the rest of the week will most likely be spent on part two: painting the kitchen cabinets. this will definitely be more of a chore than step one since it involves sooooo much brush painting.

i'll give you an update once we are finished with them.

love,
maggie
