well the crib is finally complete. i never thought the day would come, but griffin worked his little tail off last night to finish it. although there are a couple of places that we need to touch up now that we have it put together, we are going to do those touch-ups next week. for those of you who missed the post on our crib-buying experience, we found this little gem on craigslist for $40... and that was including the mattress! we knew from the beginning that we wanted a jenny lind crib and that we wanted to paint it, so we figured there was no point in spending the full price on a new one from babiesrus. overall, if we would have bought the crib and mattress new, we would have spent 220 buckaroos. and considering we only spent $40, i'll take those savings any day.
take a gander at the before
the during
and the afters {without bedding}
and the afters {with bedding}

so what do you guys think? do you have any experience painting cribs? although painting those spindles truly is a chore, we absolutely love the way it turned out... and we're sure baird will love it just as much :)
love,
maggie

Way to go Waltons! You guys are so crafty and creative, Baird is lucky to have such great parents.
it looks adorable. that seems like quite the project but it turned out fabulous! i love it!i think baird will too : )
Yay it's done!!! I would imagine it would be verrry tedious work painting every spindle, but it's definitely a job well done! Now you can keep decorating! I only enjoy painting when it's quick and usually in spray form. Probably won't be painting anything for our nursery, ha.
we have a hand-me-down crib from a friend, and mj makes the 7th baby who has slept in it! we painted it black when we got it three years ago for baylor. according to casey (i had nothing to do with the painting), it was a chore. it looks SO GOOD, magpie!
yall are sweet.
and i agree with you lyndsey, i definitely prefer paint in the spray form.
lissa i bet their black crib is sooo cute. that was our next choice in color :)
