nursery shelves: check

when we were exploring different options for art in the nursery, we realized very quickly that we didn't really have anywhere to put cute baby knick-knacks. the only real place to set things is on the two side tables that sit on each side of the couch and perhaps at the end of the changing table, definitely not enough space. after looking at the remaining wall space, we realized that we had just the right spot for some shelves. although we debated on the style to go with, griffin wanted white shelves and i wanted wood stained ones with black metal brackets, we ended up going with pre-built, raw wood shelves from hobby lobby (with 40% off coupons of course) that we eventually painted white. by we, i of course mean griffin. we already had the white paint so the only cost for the shelving was the $20 we spent... not too bad for three wooden shelves :)

heres what we came up with...

sorry about the poor quality of the pictures... they were taken after the sun had set. and obviously we plan on putting pictures in the two empty picture frames. although im not sure of what yet. maybe sonogram pictures? or maybe baby pictures of griffin and i like my friend lissa suggested.

what do you guys think?

hope you guys are having a wonderful wednesday. half way to the weekend :)

love,
maggie

Gorgeous! I looooove the white! I think the darker decorations (like the route 66 sign would have been lost on the dark wood stained shelves. The nursery looks great!!
