baby squirt

so... we went to midlothian last night thinking we were going to be celebrating my sister amanda's 28th birthday. my brother-in-law ryan had set up a surprise party for her a few weeks back and, although we thought it a little uncharacteristic of him to do something like that, he's just not into the whole cliche birthday thing, we thought it was a really sweet gesture and knew that amanda would not be expecting it. we all waited with anticipation for her arrival and, when she got to the restaurant, she acted genuinely surprised. although i had a sinking suspicion that she knew about the party, i never dreamt of the surprise that would come later.

yes it is true. she is pregnant. and they actually planned the whole party to surprise us. i think it took me a good 15 seconds to figure it out once she opened the basket!! we spent the next hour talking about pregnancy stuff and joking about grandma/grandpa names. my mom was so excited she told us she wanted to sew us matching maternity clothes. we told her that might be a little much. anyways, we are so excited for her and ryan and sooooooo excited that little baird is going to have a built-in best friend/playmate come april.
