antique dresser turned changing table

well i am so excited to announce that we got our changing table this weekend. we are so blessed to have gotten this beautiful dresser from one of griffin's family's dear family friends. although we were originally going to paint the dresser black when we got it, once we got it into the room and griffin spruced it up with a little old english, we decided there was no way we could part with the original, beautiful wood.

as soon as we had it in place, we hung the pictures and the baird letters above it, and i did a little accessorizing. while i was originally going to put a lamp and a couple of other things on top, i decided to wait until we get the changing pad on there to see how much room we have left. with the changing pad, the diapers and wipes, the wipe warmer, and other paraphernalia that i'm sure we will have, i didn't want it to be too crowded. so... we shall see. 

so, without further adieu, here are some pictures of the beauty. 



can you believe the amount of storage in that thing? creating more storage was something we definitely wanted to do so i'm excited about the number of drawers in this dresser. i'm sure we will use some of them for clothes and some for diapers, wipes, medicine, etc. i threw a table runner on top because i don't want to mess up the pretty wood. the vintage locker is currently housing the diapers, although i'm not sure if i will keep it that way for good.

we are so grateful that georgia, along with maurice and carol, were gracious enough to give us this dresser. my love for all things vintage and antique, paired with the ugly selection of changing tables available in stores, made this the perfect solution.
