remember these???
I bought them in Canton a few weeks ago and knew i wanted to use them in the dining room somehow, but wasn't exactly sure. For $5 a pop though, I was willing to bet i'd find somewhere to put them! Today I ran by Michael's and found a cute green, organic looking bouquet of artificial flowers. Although I am usually not a fan of artificial flowers, i though these looked really natural. Plus, at $3 a pop ($6 total), I think they turned out pretty cool. I also added some jute string around it to give it some extra flair. I plan on using them on each side of some shelves we are going to build for the dining room.
here is what they look like now...
so whatdaya think?
and while i'm at it, what are your thoughts on artificial flowers?
love,
maggie

Love that Idea!
I dont mind artificial flowers as long as they don't get dusty!
as a rule I don't like artificial flowers but I do have them in my house. When we have dinner parties or a lot of people at our house I run by the store and replace the fake with real! Oh, and I love baby names. I'm thinking of some boy names for you. Do you have a boy middle name picked out or a theme you're going for.
Super cute! I usually opt for real if they're going on the kitchen table or a high traffic area, but I have some faux hydrangeas in our bathroom and in a guest room...you can find some that look very real!
Completely agree! I definitely prefer the real thing, but if you find some that look pretty real, or at least that have a lot of texture, I think they can work. We will see what they look like when they are hanging in the house!
i mean, i think artificial flowers at a wedding are kind of tacky, but in your house, it's just practical! i'm the lazy kind of girl who can barely remember to pick up all the groceries i need, let alone fresh flowers at the store to stock my house. and forget remembering to water them! LOL. i think these are beautiful!
Very cute! I am totally NOT an artificial flower person, BUT, if you actually have to touch them to see if they're real or not, I can fly with that.- Esp. when they are sort of "dried flower" looking. Yours turned out great!
I think that is good criteria Kristin. If you have to touch them to see if they are real or not, then they are ok. If it is obvious from a mile a way that they are fake, not so much!
