Summer Vacation: Kauai, Hawaii

well we made it back from hawaii alive. although we are extremely tired (major jet-lag) we had an amazing 7 days with my family soaking up the sun, exploring the beautiful island of kauai, and eating tons of great food. a few of the highlights from the trip include a trip to the waimea canyon (what mark twain referred to as the "grand canyon of the pacific"), a trip to the north shore and the napali coast (where many movies have been filmed including jurassic park and six days seven nights), and some awesome snorkeling. griffin also got to go on some "non-pregnancy-friendly-adventures" of his own, including a helicopter ride around the island and a round of golf on one of the most beautiful golf courses i have ever seen. although there are plenty of things we would have done had i not been pregnant, like scuba diving, extensive hiking, zip-lining, etc, we had so much fun relaxing by the beach. plus, i was able to not only read twilight, but also new moon. i hate to admit it but i'm kind of obsessed now.

hope your week was as wonderful as mine was. no back to the grind. two more weeks of summer left before i go back to school full time so i'm going to try and get some house projects done this week.
